Description — Installing operating systems from scratch. — Applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes. — Configuring, adding, and deleting file systems. — Installing and configuring new hardware and software. — Adding, removing, or updating user account information, resetting passwords, etc. — Answering technical queries and assisting users. — Responsibility for security. — Responsibility for documenting the configuration of the system. — Troubleshooting any reported problems. — System performance tuning. — Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems. — Introducing and integrating new technologies into existing data center environments. — Performing routine audits of systems and software.
Qualifications • Candidate should be graduated as information technology engineer or electronic engineering degree or equivalent • Candidate should present proven pas experience of working in AIX or UNIX environment of a reputable organization. • 2-or more years of experience with UNIX/Linux systems. • Strong knowledge of basic UNIX administrative tasks (users, file systems, logs, services, etc.) • Good knowledge of networks basics. • Experience with AIX and UNIX clustering is an advantage. • Experience with IBM Servers, SAN storage and SAN switches is an advantage. • Experience with MS Windows Servers and AD (LDAP) is an advantage. • Good investigative and multitasking skills. • Quick learning abilities and attention to details. • Ability to work under pressure and after hours when needed. • Ability to work in a team with other system/network administrators.
