Description 1. Manage the companys day-to-day purchasing activities for replenishment inventory across distribution locations. 2. Optimize inventory investment across distribution locations to meet or exceed established customer service levels while minimizing overstock and slow moving inventory. 3. Direct planners to maximize gross profits from manufacturer agreements, investments buying, and other purchasing-driven profit streams. 4. Develop and implement scorecard and accountability metrics to monitor and evaluate planner performance. 5. Support efforts of all product categories relative to purchasing activity, to include, but not limited to: new products/vendors launches, promotional opportunities, 6. Provide input and direction for enhancing current purchasing systems, parameters, and processes to improve overall department performance toward key performance indicators. 7. Prepare detailed reports for analysis of purchasing activity to identify root causes of issues and implement control processes. 8. Recruit, develop, review, and discipline direct reports and activities. 9. Other tasks and projects as assigned.
Qualifications Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum five (5) years of experience in purchasing and inventory management (pharmaceuticals and/or consumer packaged goods preferred). Previous supervisory and management experience and knowledge with proven leadership
