Description —Ensuring software developed complies with agreed techniques and standards, including version control of software for all bespoke code and configuration. —Creating, amending and monitoring of software: correcting errors and re-testing to achieve an error free result in conjunction with QA team. —Undertaking quality assurance of team and 3rd parties, leading code and architectural reviews. —Provide leadership and guidance to colleagues in any aspect of program design, creation, testing and documentation. —Monitoring the performance of systems, processes and software under development and used in the company. —Working in conjunction with other team members to deploy software upgrades under approved change control procedures, ensuring the delivery of updated software is completed to agreed timescales with full agreement and communication with business. —Ensure that all software development adheres to company security standards, and that there are no internal or external breaches to data. —Effectively estimates timescales and resource requirements for the successful delivery of the task. —Works with business and analysis teams to investigate and model business functions, processes, information flows and data structures, using methodical and consistent techniques. —Capable of understanding and contributing to the technical solution from design through to code level —Provide regular and effective progress updates to and work closely with Development Project Managers to ensure the management of any delivery risks or issues —Provide third-level support to business users. Undertake small analysis projects or tenders analysis or technical proposal in the form of consultancy. —Work on a wide range of projects involving the implementation of new and existing systems, solutions and processes —Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget. —Research and evaluate a variety of software products.
Qualifications •5+ years’ experience as a Software Developer •3+ years’ experience in a technical leadership position •College or University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline •In depth understanding of standard Microsoft development technologies and programming toolsets. •High level of appreciation of enterprise infrastructure, security, scalability, flexibility, maintainability and reliability. •Excellent communications skills to explain either verbally or in writing technical concepts. •Excellent understanding of software development approaches and methodologies including Agile (Scrum, TDD( •Excellent understanding and exposure to Microsoft Team Foundation Server and ALM. •Excellent understanding of MS Project Server & MS Project Professional
