Description — Designing, implementing and commissioning processes and test equipment related to the product manufacture that are cost effective and within a given budget. — Evaluating manufacturing processes by observation, work sampling and throughput analysis. — Create, review and approve Standard Work Instructions — Optimize and lean out the workload to match the operator capabilities. — Develop operator aids and poka-yoke countermeasures to enhance production operator efficiency. — Minimize or eliminate non-value added operations within the production area. — Create and maintain value-stream maps to support decisions and drive improvements. — Assures product and process quality by defining test methods and drawing process capability reports. — Institute Kaizen activities to drive process performance improvements. — Pursue and support cost reduction activities to achieve company VAVE goals. — Work with product and value stream engineers to ensure technical documentation and work instruction needs are met. — Review and approve Engineering Change Notices as applicable to product line responsibilities. — Assess safety and environmental requirements, ensuring that these are always integrated into new or revised processes.
Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. • Excellent communication and organisation skills. • Good interpersonal and training skills. • Demonstrates a strong attention to detail. • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures, six sigma manufacturing quality and CAD. • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. • Ability to proactively identify and hands-on resolve manufacturing engineering related issues. • Ability to work independently, resolve process issues without detailed direction. • Ability to work as part of a team. • Familiar with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection principles.
