Holds an administrative support position for the Vice Chair Office. Liaise with Faculty for meetings with Vice Chair, attend meetings and take official minutes, agenda preparation. -Manage Vice Chair calendar. Facilities management and oversee the needs of the University offices -Assessment and recommendation for needs of furnishing or refurbishing of departmental premises. Performing all HR related tasks for faculty: -Manage contract issuing and contract renewals for all Faculty appointments. -Conduct New Faculty Hire Orientation Program, Exit interview program. -Assist in overseeing implementation of faculty policies and procedures. -Liaise with HR for payroll processing, ensure up to date salary adjustments are reflected and communicated. -Install the salary scale each year on the System after making the necessary increments’ adjustments. -Monitor and process home leave sick leave and sabbatical leaves, preparation for tenure, leave without pay. -Plan the budget of faculty salaries. Budget: preparing and tracking the city budget. -Work with all departments and offices and those reporting directly to the Vice Chair on their budget. -Responsible of the Vice Chair’s contingency budget. Approve faculty and their dependents scholarships if requested. Issuance, update and distribution of faculty listings. -Issue the Promotion and Tenure Schedule every year and distribute to all faculty members. -Update and maintain the Promotion and Tenure Guidelines. -Receive the files of the Promotion and Tenure files from all units and office and make sure that the basic documents and complete. -Apply increment for the Promoted faculty members. -Responsible for organizing all events given by the Vice Chair either outside or inside the university and establish contacts with universities, research institutes, industries, and key personal that help in promoting the University and the City at large.
Qualifications Work collaboratively with faculty across a wide range of subjects. Thorough knowledge of the city policies and procedures. Experience with faculty teaching load, class scheduling and students load. Experience with academic planning.
