Description •Supervising a design team to meet customer needs and coordinate with consultants and vendors but are not limited to, production architects, engineers, renderers, furniture vendors. •Reporting to the Design Manager. •Supervising the design process. Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives. •Supporting, understanding and advising the client as to the requirements and obligations in the development of a building design. •Encouraging and inspiring design consultants to produce their best work using their full flair, experience, resources and talents in a cost effective way. •Ensuring the design process recognizes current legislation, standards and codes of practice, where appropriate. •Ensuring design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales; and Striving to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction. •Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate. •Work with marketing staff to ensure that prerequisites (like prequalification or getting on a vendor list) are fulfilled within a timely manner. •Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments. •Manage consultant’s budgets and discern the need and request additional scope work. •Identify and maintain any timelines that are related to the Department of Building or any other government agency. •Conduct periodic coordination meetings involving related consultants so that information is shared and dialogue is constant. •Record and minute all meetings and keep track of attendees’ input.
Qualifications • A minimum of 3 years. • BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product), or related experience. • Critical understanding of best practices for user-centered design and functionality. • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast paced, independent environment. • Be self-directed, self-motivated, organized and disciplined. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Desktop, Mobile and Tablet design experience across multiple formats. • Passion for enterprise software, and making every day products beautiful. • Prior management in a team leadership role.
