Description The Date Palm consultant will work alongside key project program staff, including the Production Team Leader, Agronomy Technical Advisors, and Senior Agronomists, to develop a Farm Field School training curriculum that will address critical weaknesses amongst smallholder Date Palm farmers and help to prepare Date Palm growers associations for Global G.A.P. certification. The consultant will be based out of the FAS Project office in Luxor but will be required to make several trips to the field for farm visits in different governorates in Upper Egypt.
Deliverable of the assignment are as follows:
Training needs assessment
Curriculum development
Farmers capacity building
Farmers Follow up Visits
Qualifications The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: Experience implementing training of trainers. Advance relevant degree Expertise related to Date Palm production, harvest and post-harvest practices. Previous work experience in development project with small farmers is preferable. Experience developing training programs/curriculum
