Accountabilities /Position summary:
  • This position is accountable for developing business opportunities & Commercial strategies and maintaining of commercial and other relationships.
  • The position is responsible for sales , marketing , Customer relations and communications strategy implementation, budgets and non-financial targets and is responsible for attracting customers and ensuring a highly professional relationship to the various decisions makers within the customer’s organisation.
  • Managing budget preparations and monitoring and in establishing strategic marketing , customer relations and communication plans to achieve corporate objectives for on-going port development.
  • Managing the translation of the Commercial strategy into business targets, budgets and tangible plans.
  • Managing the customer attraction and Managing a highly professional relationship to the various decisions makers within the customer’s organisation.
  • Drives and manages the customer value proposition to secure growth and profitable sales development.
  • Managing a positive relationships with key local and national representatives, including media personnel, in order to create opportunities for keeping the Company and its services in front of the public and the trade.
  • Develops and executes commercial programs to achieve stated objectives regarding revenue, profitability and market share.

  • Assist in the development of overall standards and guidelines for Sales & Marketing, including pricing, service, promotion, advertising and PR and media.
  • Analyse marketing programs and adjust strategy and tactics to increase effectiveness.
  • Reviews analysis of marketing surveys on current and new product/service concepts in order to recommend future development.
  • Provides post-event reports, analysis and regular status reports on marketing programs.
  • Managing tariff and cost analyses and comparative studies/reports.
  • Assist in managing the customer issues with relevant department & maintains a one point customer contact Measure & display commercial results, including forecast periodically.
  • Observes social, economic and political trends that might ultimately have an effect upon the Company, and makes recommendations to enhance the company’s image based on those trends.
  • Managing a continuous knowledge of industry & market trends availability.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • Requires a college degree in business, marketing or related discipline. Requires direct marketing/sales experience in transportation or related industry. A master’s degree in marketing will be preferable.
  • Requires management experience from preferably the terminal or shipping industry or alternatively related industry within transport or supply chain management.
  • Detailed understanding of the various links between other functional areas.
  • A broad and international experience and a proven track record within B2B Sales & Marketing.
  • Ability to work with confidence both locally and globally.
  • Ability to negotiate and build relationships on all levels.
  • Targeted, energetic and able to motivate other people.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate across the organization.
  • Trustworthy, ambitious and able to work highly independently and in teams
