Description Purpose: The Systems Administrator is responsible for providing IT network support to the MESR project team, including purchasing and maintaining IT equipment. The Systems Administrator will also be responsible for providing onsite support to Government of Egypt end users and administrative support and monitoring for successful integration across Government Fiscal Management Information System (GFMIS) functions.
Responsibilities and Key Tasks:
MESR Project Team IT Network Support
- Conduct local network maintenance and installation (cabling, switches and NIC configuration TCP/IP, NAT, TCP/IP printing, windows network and domain services on TCP/IP);
- Conduct WAN connectivity and maintenance (Internet connection and services, and devices configuration and maintenance);
- Conduct server and server application maintenance (Hardware integration, Windows 2008 server maintenance, Lotus Domino and messaging system monitoring, WSUS services, Antivirus maintenance);
- Provide client computer hardware and application installation, configuration and maintenance (Laptops, Desktops, MS Windows XP Pro or Windows 7 Pro, MS Office Suite, Lotus Notes and other mail clients, Sophos AV);
- Regularly communicate with the Home Office OIMT IT Operations team regarding network, system hardware and software changes/issues/updates and user registration, updates and termination;
- Assist Operations Specialist in properly inventorying IT equipment;
- Prepare procurement specifications and SOWs for IT procurements per DAI standards;
- Review all IT procurement requests in TAMIS;
- Assist Operations Specialist and provide advice in annual IT inventory and software audits;
GFMIS Support
- Provide onsite support to Government of Egypt end users;
- Serve as a technical resource to support GFMIS users;
- Provide administrative support and monitoring for successful integration across GFMIS functions.
The Systems Administrator will be based in Cairo, Egypt and will report to the IT Manager.
Qualifications - Bachelors degree in Computer Programming, Computer Engineering or related field; - 7-10 years of relevant experience supporting information system design and development; - Ability to troubleshoot, support, and provide training to end users; - Excellent interpersonal communication skills, especially with introducing and/or trouble shooting ICT systems for those with little familiarity with ICT systems and skills; - Experience with institutional and capacity building strengthening in the form of training, mentorship, and strategic planning; - Experience working with Lotus-Notes based databases preferred; - Experience working for donor-funded projects preferred;
