Job Summary: Shipment Assistant
The Shipment Assistant plays a critical role in coordinating and processing over 1,100 shipments annually, ensuring compliance with procedures for transportation, shipping, and customs clearance. Responsibilities include reviewing vendor invoices and vouchers, renewing vehicle registrations, and coordinating the disposal of U.S. government vehicles. The position is a key component of the Embassy’s Transportation, Shipping, and Customs team.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Experience: At least three years of progressively responsible experience in transportation, shipping, customs, or logistics.
- Education: A minimum of two years of college studies is required.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English and Arabic (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Job Knowledge: Familiarity with freight forwarding procedures, Egyptian customs regulations, accounting practices, contract implementation, and shipping line operations.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong customer relationship abilities.
