Job Title: Accountant II
Specific Responsibilities
The Accountant II for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Capital Accounting team, reporting to the Capital Accounting Manager. This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
• Prepare of Capital Accruals for domestic asset teams.
• Review AFEs for appropriate accounting treatment and AFE set up in SAP.
• Maintain asset subledger and perform AFE settlements in SAP.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly schedules related to unproved property balances.
• Prepare of manual journal entries including impairments, abandonments, AFE or account reclasses and JV audits.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Support capital team with special projects and serve as backup for additional capital processes.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting; other field of study may be considered when combined with a minimum of 12 completed accounting hours.
- 3+ years of professional financial accounting or auditing experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge and experience in SAP preferred.
- Holding or actively pursuing CPA designation preferred.
