Description Lead plant production and maintenance personnel in day to day activities to ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of equipment and facilities. Ensure the efficient processing of incoming recyclable materials. Works in planning, budgeting, organizing resources, executing work plans, monitors production and quality, co-ordinates priorities, resolves issues and participates in special projects and work schedules. Hire, direct, coach and mentor staff to ensure performance targets are being met. Plans, organizes, implements and monitors work schedules/external suppliers. Assume P&L responsibility including budgetary and cash flow. Ensure site compliance to all labour, safety, and environmental regulations. Prepare management reporting. Ensure that Health and Safety requirements are being met.
Qualifications Demonstrated experience in production planning, logistics and equipment maintenance. Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain staffing levels at an appropriate level to minimize costs. Ability to use mobile equipment and the ability to train & evaluate operators on mobile equipment. Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Excellent interpersonal, teambuilding and oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization in a multi-cultural environment. Strong financial, mathematical and analytical skills. Solid computer skills with proficiency in the use of MS Office, particularly Excel. Experience in a recycling, material recovery or material handling facility is an asset. Experience with PLC programming/controls is an asset. Must hold and maintain a valid drivers’ licence.
