Description -Annual turnover and mark up planning concerning own area (based on pivot numbers accepted by the Head of Buying). -Visits, evaluates and selects the adequate supplier, and concludes to the annual contract. Determines discounts, transportation conditions, settles dates, and determines promotion costs. -Observes the activities of competitors, collects data to make up to date information available. -Analyzes market information, follows new developments, trends in order to be update on the existing situation on his /her market. -Visits and cooperates with Warehouse, Customer Service & Procurement Departments for product availability, shrinkage reduction and Customers complains. -Provide updated, reliable & valid data to Content team. -Develop and control all promotional activities with the Merchandising & Marketing team to create competitive image and ensure that it reaches target customers in a cost effective manner. -Deals with the suppliers for all the OB relevant to his/her department. -Collects or collates import conditions and transactions. -Specifies and indicates ways of strategy implementation. -Recruit, train, develop and manage a small buying team that comprises of Assistant Category Managers and other supporting staff. -Sets the goals for his/her subordinates. Does the follow up and informs the Head of Retail. -Communicates with Customer Service Department to assure products evaluation in terms of quality control according to the Companys and Authorities requirements and standards. -Develop and maintain effective internal communications channel particularly with other buying teams, operation, marketing and other functions within the organization -Keep a smooth & deep cooperation between his/her buying team in connection with suppliers, assortment, and dealing with re-consignment. Communicates with Procurement & Logistics Department to secure high level of Fulfillment.
Qualifications -University degree education in Trade/Marketing/Business Administration or relevant. -Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken). -Must be fluent in Arabic. -Excellent expertise in relevant ( Tablets) category’s products, suppliers, customers and import. -Excellent knowledge of procurement principles, methods and processes, e.g. in range and assortment building. - Abilities to use computer, office programs and database
