Springer Nature is currently recruiting for a senior designer to lead Nature Arabic Edition art team and other several projects in the Middle East. You will be responsible for working with the design team to maintain the highest quality for the publication, providing creative and high quality, visually appealing and professional designs for our publications. You will report to the executive editor in Cairo, with a dotted line to the art director in London, and will work closely with our experienced team in Cairo to maintain timely production of our different publications.
Qualifications The following experience: required skills/qualifications/knowledge: •More than 5 years experience in layout and graphic design. •Experience producing graphics according to set specifications. •Experience with Mac and PC environments. •Ability to work with the editorial team to produce engaging and modern infographs. •Knowledge of video editing is preferred •Proven record of previous advertising campaigns and creating concepts is a plus. •Demonstrable history of designing project in Arabic and English. •Advance knowledge of Adobe programs such as Adobe Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Incopy is a must. •Adobe certified is desirable. •Previous experience in magazine and online publication preferred. •Knowledge of modern publishing trends preferred. •Experience in managing designers and picture researchers to maintain regular publishing schedules. •Solid understanding of new media tools and social networks and how to use them graphically.
