Assigns duties to subordinates and examines work for correctness and conformance to accounting standards. Develops policies, procedures, guidelines and standards related to the accounting functions. Provides guidance, leadership and oversight to accounting staff to ensure compliance with the overall objectives and quality standards of the department. · Develops an effective training plan for his/her staff members and ensure its execution. Monitors, reviews, and approves the payments due to the Tax Authority as scheduled, and ensures the daily documentation of the taxes and approves the monthly and quarterly tax reports submitted to the tax authorities·.· Ensures that Accounts Receivables transactions are documented on a daily basis and ensures its collection as scheduled. In coordination with the GL Section Head, monitors the movement of safes cash going in and out. Advises Financial Controller on desirable financial adjustments and ensures that all balance sheet reconciliation and analysis are performed on a timely basis. Executes the responsibilities of Accounting Manager according to lawful and ethical standards. Abides by the authorities granted to the position as per the DOA Facilitates the provision of information and documents to external auditors. Assists in the preparation of the Accounting Department budget. Oversees subordinates work and discuss progress of work, resolve problems and prepares performance evaluation for his subordinates. Signs and approves vouchers and general ledger entries including general journal entries, payment vouchers and receipt vouchers. Participates in the closing of accounts process. Delegates particular day to day responsibilities to accountants. Executes the responsibilities of Accounting Manager according to the documented Delegation of Authority Matrix.
Qualifications University degree in Accounting, or equivalent work experience; Approximately 7 - 10 years of related experience; · Professional certificate (CPA or CMA) is preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to coordinate, delegate and integrate all activities involved in accounting operations; Knowledge of computerized information systems used in accounting application; Excellent judgment, tact, and decision-making ability; Management, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; Excellent knowledge of both Arabic and English language (speaking, reading and writing); and Proven track record. •
