Description 1. Receive and tabulate the OVRs generated by the ASSIH staff. 2. Monitor, analyze, and investigate all OVRs. 3. Investigate patient care occurrences and report findings to the Patient Safety and Risk Manager. 4. Tabulate data collected through the OVRs and make prepare statistical conclusions. 5. Prepare and present reports related to patient safety. 6. Perform trending and benchmarking of patient-related occurrences and report findings on periodic basis. 7. Coordinate patient safety activities with nursing, medical and other hospital staff. 8. Recommend and facilitate change within the organization to improve patient safety, based on OVR findings. 9. Participate in the development of policy and procedures related to patient safety. 10. Implement a clear mechanism for internal communication of patient safety related information. 11. Provide staff education on the OVR system and patient safety principles. 12. Support and encourage error reporting throughout the organization through a non-punitive OVR system. 13. Coordinate services and plans with other safety staff in the hospital.
Qualifications Graduate education in nursing, pharmacy, medicine or other health related field 1-2 years in the field of quality and patient safety
