Outline of job role Springer Nature is currently recruiting for an Editorial Assistant for a soon to be launched Arabic version of Scientific American. This position, based in our Cairo office, will involve working with a dynamic team responsible for several high quality and high impact science publications in English and Arabic. You will work directly with the Editor-in-Chief and the Administration Manager to set the editorial workflow and the administration process. The Editorial Assistant will also be responsible for providing administrative support to the other science publications which are being managed from Cairo Office. The following are the key responsibilities of the Editorial Assistant: •Handle translation operations for Scientific Egyptian and other projects as required. •Act as a point of contact for freelance translators. •Handle the payment process for freelance authors and translators. •Assist in organizing science seminars. •Schedule the Editorial meetings and handle the meeting minutes transcription and distribution. •Create monthly report detailing information about the images that have been used and submit it to the Picture Researcher. •Assist in developing business dashboard for the project. •Assist in organizing social activities for NPG Middle East team.
Qualifications Graduate degree in administration, or relevant •Minimum of three years’ experience in office administration roles. •Experience in editorial surrounding is highly desirable. •Experience in handling and processing invoices

Other Skills •Excellent written and oral communications skills in English and Arabic. •Ability to work under pressure and multi task. •Proficient in using MS Office packages (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Adobe and Outlook) •Proactive and self-starter. •Ability to work in an environment requiring attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. •Ability to stay calm under pressure and work well with others and show initiative. •Time management skills, including the ability to keep to tight deadlines.
