Description Ensuring animals in the animal facility are housed and handled according to international standards and Zewail City Policy enforced by ZC Animal Research Ethics Committee. -Carrying out regular observations on animal behavior and health checks. Preparing plans for monitoring and securing appropriate animal housing conditions (heating, lighting and humidity). -Ensuring food is provided in correct amounts and contents to animals. Recording data of the facility conditions and promptly providing information as requested by AREC. -Keeping accurate records and computerized database system for (animal facility, biosafety related issues in EHS) to monitor the safety regulations are maintained to the standards. -Joining the membership of the AREC. -Preparing plans and creating cost analysis for the animal facility and Zewail city biohazards wastes. -Supervising the lab custodians on the levels of hygiene in the facility, animals and labs. -Training and assisting new users on the ethical handling of animal. -Reporting any violations of the animal handling or biohazards in the animal facility and labs. Ability to perform euthanasia, killing, and treating animals with drugs (oral, tail vein, intraperitoneal, subcutaneous) is an advantage.
