Description 1.Prepares purchase orders and review requisitions for goods and services 2.Monitors and follows applicable laws and regulations. 3.Researches and evaluates suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the suppliers reputation and history. 4.Confers with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action. 5.Maintains and reviews computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories. 6.Responds to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations. 7.Contacts suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems. 8.Prepares, maintains, and reviews purchasing files, reports and price lists. 9.Compares prices, specifications, and delivery dates in order to determine the best bid among potential suppliers. 10.Compares suppliers bills with bids and purchase orders in order to verify accuracy. 11.Analyzes price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices. 12.Purchases the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts. 13.Reviews product specifications, maintaining a working technical knowledge of the goods or services to be purchased. 14.Negotiates and administers contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives. 15.In addition to any other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.
