Description —assist in the development of the Finance and Accounting strategy — assist in the development of policies and procedures, monitoring and controlling of performance —Supervise, motivate, and monitor the work of the accountants team —Process all financial related transactions and ensure that they conform to company obligations as per statutory/ legal/ requirement; Assist in ensuring that all accounting entries are incorporated in the company accounts after they have been approved as per schedule of authority and that accounts are kept updated to reflect all the transactions of the business, including all reconciliations with banks, debtors, creditors, etc. —Assist in ensuring general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and other financial records and schedules are accurately maintained; Handle all aspects of accounting function (general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, etc); Engaged in the more critical and confidential aspects of accounting — Follow up with accounts receivable and payable; Track receivables and ensure timely collection — Supervise the timely classification and recording of assets; Prepare fixed assets register (monthly, quarterly, and annual)—Monitor the companys tax position and alert of any significant changes —Supervise the processing of cash operation and accuracy of petty cash records —Follow up on the banks current accounts and ensure completion of all bank reconciliations— Follow up on all bank deposits, including preparation of renewal letters and calculation of interests on deposits —Follow up on the brokers, agents, sales team, suppliers, etc. accounts —Assist in the preparation of Financial statements— Prepare reinsurance accounts to match with Reinsurance records, and follow up on payments to reinsurers — Assist in the preparation of the Budget in coordination with all Line Managers — Manage multiple tasks and prioritize work, while assisting team in meeting deadlines
Qualifications •Minimum B.S Degree in Accounting, Finance, a professional accounting certificate/license is a plus •Experience in the insurance industry is a must •Very Good knowledge in the laws and regulations governing the accounting, budgeting and auditing activities •Previous experience in supervisory related positions •Demonstrate creative ways to meet challenges, goals and objectives with enthusiasm, drive and initiative •Possess an excellent analytical background, excellent math skills and decision making abilities
