The Responsibilities of the Software application engineers: -Reviewing and studying customer requirements. -Installing software products. -Customizing software products to meet customer requirements. Most business logic is in an MSSQL/Oracle database so updates are required to tables and stored procedures. C++ updates are required. UI changes are also often required. Current UI is written in Adobe Flex. -Testing the software changes in-house. -Installing the software in customer’s environment. -Testing the software changes at the customer’s facility. This is a warehouse environment. Safety equipment (glasses, safety shoes) are required. -Supporting the software post go-live -Knowledge of server hardware / virtual environments is beneficial since occasionally software team needs to set-up equipment or VMs prior to software installation
Qualifications The successful candidates will have required knowledge in the following skill sets: .C / C++ .SQL , PLSQL Oracle , MSSQL .Object oriented concepts .Java / Flex .JSP .Familiarity with web servers (Tomcat, etc) Additional skills in the following areas are highly desired: .Familiarity with version control .Virtualization (VMWare, etc.) .Knowledge of software/hardware setup .Good problem solving skills .Excellent communication skills
