Manages the overall administration, customization, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all modules of the library’s integrated library system, including the online catalog and the discovery platform. Negotiates the annual ILS maintenance contract in conjunction with library director. - Monitors system performance and security. - Suggests and coordinates system software and hardware upgrades. - Acts as liaison between local IT staff and vendors. - Trouble-shoots system problems, communicates with vendors, and crafts solutions. - Identifies and evaluates new and emerging library-related technologies and applications. - Configures and oversees implementation of electronic products, including training librarians and staff members on new interfaces or procedures. - Propose relevant documentation and policies. - Provide copy cataloging for all print and electronic materials. - Participates in librarian meetings and the library collection development selection process. - Participates in faculty meetings and service on law school and university committees as assigned. - Participates in regional and national professional associations and relevant user groups. - Develop Research Guides and participate in the Reference Desk rotation serving students, faculty, administrators, and patrons. - Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Bachelor of Librarianship, Documentation or Information Science - Knowledge of cataloging and metadata principles, such as MARC & RDA - Experience with technologies such as computer operating systems, database software, web sites. - Familiarity with one or more integrated library systems - Familiarity with Dspace - Familiarity with Ebsco EDS - Good knowledge of HTML, Css - Familiarity with RFID technology - Strong organizational skills are essential - Communication skills, oral and written, are essential - Demonstrated public service and customer service skills. - Knowledge of internet and conventional office technology tools is required. These tools include e-mail, internet search engines, google doc, and software applications Word, Excel, and MS Access. - Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people including faculty, students, administrators, and public patrons.
