The Admissions team is part of Student Affairs and is responsible for all initial applications for undergraduate and postgraduate. The Admission Officer supports the provision of an effective and efficient admissions service for the University in the recruitment of students.
Responsibilities:
1. Take responsibility for the revising and evaluating of applicant documents and certificates. Ensure that valid offers are made by referring to the University’s agreed entry criteria and recording all such decisions on the central computerized student management system, within the specified University deadlines. Ensure all rejections are recorded and, where necessary, examined.
2. Assist in the organization of, admission tests and assessment of applicants.
3. Responsible for the accurate and timely entry of applicant information on to the central computerized student management system, correcting any errors that occur.
4. Provide advice and guidance on admission requirements and course credit policies to applicants and potential applicants verbally and in writing. Deal with all internal and external queries concerning the progress and status of an application.
5. Work closely with faculty administrators, marketing, academic staff and associate partner colleges to ensure the effective adaptation of all prospective students.
6. Support the production of regular admissions reports for monthly or weekly presentation to senior managers and Core Executive, as required.
7. Maintain good working relationships with other divisions within the Student Affairs, enabling mutual understanding and support. Participate in all Student Affairs events/activities, including student enrollment, billing and graduation, as and when required.
Qualifications :
Education: University Graduate.
Experience: 0 to 2 years’ experience
Experience in admissions processes and computerized systems within the Higher Education Sector and Understanding of the Egyptian admissions process is considered to be an asset.
Experience of working in a busy and demanding customer focused environment is an asset.
Requirements :
Skills:
• Fluent in Arabic, English – knowledge of German language is an asset
• Excellent communication skills written and verbal
• Effective administrative skills, including the ability to organize and prioritize own workload in order to meet tight deadlines, whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to demonstrate effectiveness and creative problem solving skills
• Self-starter, willing to take on special projects and initiatives
• Ability to work confidently with a range of people, both within the University and externally
