A Regional Well Known institute located in Cairo, is seeking the employment of professionals in the following positions:
Job Title: Librarian
Gender: Male
Main Duties:
Plan the acquisition, organization, maintenance, utilization and retention of materials and equipment in the Library;
Make Library users aware of the new resources;
Provide indexes and abstracts for available resources;
Provide references that support textbooks and materials;
Make the library catalog integrates with others global libraries catalog;
Conduct maintenance of the library collection database;
Update the library database;
Research and answer reference questions when requested
Provide assistance to staff when needed or requested
Recommend materials for addition to the library collection
Maintain records of the materials which are checked out and who has checked them out.
Establish a good working knowledge of the library collection
Assist students to select reading materials, looking for research papers, academic books, helping to ensure it is smooth running and easy for the students.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Qualifications: Bachelor degree in libraries.
Experience: 2 years in the field of libraries.
Skills:
• Strong knowledge of library principles, practices and techniques;.
• Strong knowledge of MARC standards;
• Proficient in library integrated system;
• Proficient in digital library software;
• Good command of English is a must
• Ability to deal effectively and courteously with students and co-workers
• Proficient in MS Office (word, excel, PowerPoint etc).
