Job Purpose
As
Advertising Specialist, you will project manage, activate and deliver
cost effective and high-calibre advertising material and campaigns,
working under the direction of Advertising Managers and Account
Managers and aligning with other Corp Comms specialist teams to develop
integrated communications.You will ensure all
activity builds a consistent brand and advertising identity that adheres
to guidelines, while addressing annual and tactical campaign
objectives.
JOB OUTLINE
- Deliver relevant, timely and effective advertising that addresses briefs provided by the Account Manager
- Brief media agencies and review plans in conjunction with the Advertising Manager to improve the quality and effectiveness of media plans. Drive more creative and impactful media solutions.
- Ensure digital forms an integral part of all advertising activity and reflects a consistent and engaging brand look and feel.
- Project manage and execute brand activities to meet business objectives within scope, time, quality and cost constraints, ensuring speed to market and business alignment. Mobilise and manage internal and external resources as necessary using classic project management tools such as Creative and Project Briefs, critical path / timelines, WIP reports, to identify deliverables, project tasks, responsibilities and keep track of progress, ensuring commercial deadlines are met.
- Ensure all workflow is captured on Ek’s workspace, Empower.
- Monitor advertising budgets and expenditures. Reconcile spend and forecasts monthly, ensuring budgets are adhered to and deployed cost effectively.
We also have temporary positions to provide cover for employees on maternity leave and other exigencies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent).The jobholder should be educated to university level, preferable with a degree in Marketing.
- A post graduate qualification from a professional marketing institution (for example a diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing) would be a distinct advantage as would an Honours degree. Candidates falling short of educational requirements but with suitable work experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years experience at an account management level in an international advertising agency or as a Marketing Communications professional with an international organisation
- Experience in the airline/travel industry is preferable.
- The jobholder must have experience of developing advertising briefs, formulating and implementing annual budgets and activity plans, producing and implementing 360 degree international advertising campaigns.
- The post-holder must be able to articulate clearly and concisely in both the written and spoken form. Excellent (English language) communication skills are a paramount importance.
- The ability to think of creative solutions is important, as is the ability to keep motivated whilst working on several projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines.
- Thorough knowledge of the travel industry would be a
distinct advantage, as would any specialised training courses in the
airline/travel industry, advertising or sales promotion disciplines.
