Job Objectives
To act as Point of Contact for all Technical Operations needs in Egypt
To ensure that IT, Broadcast, MCR, Library and Maintenance enable TV, Digital and O3 MASR to achieve on screen and production objectives
To have automated/intelligent backup systems that ensures transmission and broadcasting continuity in case of any failure that encounters the broadcasting chain.
To minimize broadcast risk and critical system risk across all platforms
To provide maintenance support for multiple on-air operations. To ensure that broadcasting and maintenance procedures are satisfying the requirements
To ensure budget targets are met and further to reduce expenditure across all operations
To manage Tech Ops teams in Egypt(within directorate) according to company policy.
To assure that all activities within department are in accordance with Group Policies
General Responsibilities:
Manage broadcast transmission assets for TVand Digital
Lead projects of designing, building and installation of all IT infrastructure,control rooms and systems.
Develop and maintain a DR and business continuity plan for Technical systems.
Prepare RFP & MRF for new equipment/tools in accordance with the procurement guidelines. (with proper control of costs)
Supervise staff responsible for testing, installation, training of users
Develop maintenance schedules with assignment of engineers covering all units/studios and control rooms.
Lead the network support in case of network emergencies
Deliver department operational targets as per SLA management targets and group function strategy to enable MEP/MBC MASR/O3 MASR business units achieve their objectives
Participate in the department recruiting process and assess nominated applicants
Conduct periodic staff performance assessment and evaluation
Ensure MBC culture and professionalism is maintained amongst technical team and for all technical work and communication
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Broadcast Engineering
Broadcast Engineer / IT experience for 10 years minimum in managerial/supervisory role
Able to professionally communicate in both Arabic and English.
Required Skills In:
Media technologies and Broadcast Systems (Avid, BSS, Media Browse)
