Description -Day to day management of the Custody Operations Unit -Coordinate implementation of custody applications development in line with Business management, market, and customer requirements. -Ensure market cut-off times are met and incidents, if any to be reported / escalated to the O&T Head. -Ensure reporting (internal/external) is reviewed and approved by him. -Ensure that proper operating controls and procedures are in place and current. -Directly manage the training of staff including MCDR mandatory training requirements for custody staff. -Develop and regularly test & update Custody Operations Contingency Plan. -Coordinate all technology initiatives / developments on Custody systems -Ensure that staff are trained, rotated and capacity managed in line with business plans. -Ensure that departmental controls are performed as per operations procedures of the given unit; -Prepare performance appraisals for staff under custody ops and ensure completion for all the team -Liaise with senior management and other internal areas in the bank. -Ensure the cross training of all staff so that adequate backup / contingency plans are in place - regularly test the units ability to comply with this criteria; and perform regular self-assessments of all units within custody
Qualifications Strong PC and technical skills; Knowledge of bank personnel and administrative policies; In-depth knowledge of Custody Business; Knowledge of Financial Control; Knowledge of bank Policies and Standards; Knowledge of Market/Regulatory requirements. Custody Operations experience is a must
