Description Assist with the implementation of the recommendations for enhancing the Legal and Regulatory Environment for MSMEs; Participate, as and when needed, to the presentations and discussions that may be held within or outside the SFD; In close coordination with the SFD Policy Unit and the Head of the Unit, make a number of proposals on the issues that the sector may be facing and how they can be addressed; Collect data and undertake research as and when needed in order to base the policy advice on informed evidence and best practices; Undertake the advocacy role that is currently foreseen for the SFD, working in particular on the current issues such as the One-Stop-Shop, and micro-finance regulation, but also on all new issues and initiatives that may arise during the life of the project; Coordinate with SFD various departments, and also relevant stakeholders to facilitate institutionalization of effective systems and mechanisms for knowledge sharing, and good practices; Use the opportunity of new projects focusing on the delivery of the SFD of new types of business advisory services, in particular serving women in business, to gain a better understanding of the issues facing MSME in Egypt and how change in policies, laws or regulations could enhance the business environment they face. Provide regular reports of progress; Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications •A minimum of three years of work experience, preferably in business enabling and regulatory reform activities in Egypt; •Strong academic background with relevant degree from a leading university (business administration, economics, or Social Sciences and Humanities); •Proven experience in policy dialogue and engagement with policy-making would be a distinct advantage. •Previous exposure to comparative research or advice as well as demonstrating the ability to disseminate research results, recommendations and studies would also be a distinct advantage •Strong communication skills and ability to properly and efficiently disseminate information; •Proven, strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data; •Ability and willingness to travel across the country as deemed necessary to work progress. •Computer literacy, conversant with Microsoft Office; Word; ability to learn new systems quickly;
