Job Summary
- Chestnut Learning is an educational technology start-up which creates digital educational products. We presently employ over 200 members of staff across our Cairo and UK offices. We are currently looking for an excellent copy editor and proof-reader to be based in our UK office in Windsor to review and edit educational content for mathematics students and teachers.
Responsibilities
- Review and edit mathematical content to ensure it is well written, logically structured, easy to read, and in the right style for the intended audience
- Review and edit mathematical instructional materials and other content for an external audience
- Take ownership and responsibility for the quality of all written content
- Ensure correct use of spelling, punctuation, and grammar
- Sub-edit content written by several authors to ensure consistent house style
- In collaboration with content writers, update, improve, and expand upon current house style
- Work closely with a small team of copy editors based in the Cairo office ensuring consistent application of house style
- Liaise regularly with content writers and developers face-to-face, by email, and by phone
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Bachelor degree in a numeric or scientific discipline preferably in Mathematics
- 3 years’ experience copyediting or proofreading technical documents

Compensation
- Gross annual salary offered for this position £30,000- £36,000 depending on skills and experience.
