Description Examine purchase orders to verify they are in compliance
with company policies and procedures, that they include
the exact specifications for the item to be purchased and
entering their data on computer. Coordinate with staff
from different departments concerning their needs.
Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality,
selection, service, support, availability, reliability,
production and distribution capabilities, and the suppliers
reputation and history. Analyze price proposals, and other
data and information to determine reasonable prices.
Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective
or unacceptable goods or services and determine
corrective action. Evaluate and monitor contract
performance to ensure compliance with contractual
obligations. Maintain and review computerized or manual
records of items purchased, costs, delivery, product
performance, and inventories. Monitor shipments to
ensure that goods come in on time, and in the event of
problems trace shipments and follow up undelivered
goods. Negotiate, or renegotiate, and administer contracts
with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives.
Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest
possible price and in correct amounts. Study inventory
levels of current stock to develop strategic purchasing
programs that facilitate employee access to supplies.
Train, assign tasks to purchasing clerks & buyers and
follow up on their daily performance. Preparing daily,
weekly and monthly reports on accomplished tasks and
delayed or pending issues. Issuing temporary cash for
purchasing representatives. Monitor changes affecting
supply and demand, tracking market conditions, price
trends, or future markets.
Qualifications University degree or equivalent work experience. Approximately 1-2 years of related experience. Excellent Negotiation Skills. Communication and Negotiation skills. Excellent planning and follow up skills. Good Computer Skills. And good user on oracle system
