Summary:

• The U.S. Mission in Cairo/Egypt is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Information Management Assistant (IT Help Desk) in the Information Resources Management. The work schedule for this position is Full Time - 40 hours per week.

• Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

Basic Function of the Position 

The incumbent performs day-to-day Help Desk operations, which includes network administration and systems operations to ensures optimal use of new and existing information technology resources through local area networks. The incumbent must respond to emails, telephone inquiries, and office walk-ins. The position is responsible for documenting reported problems/incidents, tier-one IT problem solving and assigning the trouble tickets to the correct tier-two resolution team as warranted. The position requires a high degree of technical ability and excellent interpersonal skills. The incumbent coordinates with service providers and prioritizes workflow to ensure tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.  

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Two years of progressively responsible work in Information Systems.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of record communications is needed to understand the technical language used in documents received for internal distribution and filing. Knowing how to set up an electronic and paper filing and system of records is essential. 

Education Requirements:

a Bachelor's degree.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Fluent in speaking/writing/reading of English is required. (This will be tested)

Fluent in speaking/writing/reading of Arabic is required.

Skills:  The position requires a high degree of technical ability and excellent interpersonal skills.  The incumbent should have good working knowledge of Office 365 cloud environment, Mobile computing, and Active Directory Administration for managing user accounts.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
