Organi Group is looking for the following position to join us.

Chief Accountant (Charity)

Job Description:
1.  Oversee the preparation and maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
2.  Review and analyze financial data and reports to identify variances, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
3.  Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies and initiatives to support the company's growth and profitability.
4.  Review and approve the issued payment for all non-merchandise-related expenses/ fixed assets through cheques or online transfers; confirm to requested parties once payment is made.
5. Ensure all expense payments made are within budget and in line with the planned payment schedule and issued in a timely and accurate manner with necessary approvals.
6. Ensure all accruals and pre-payments are accurately reported and adjusted as needed.
7. Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding general ledger matters, addressing inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
8. Proactively identify and address any issues or discrepancies in financial records to ensure the reliability and integrity of financial information.
9. Develop and implement standardized processes and procedures for general ledger activities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
10. Continuously evaluate and improve general ledger processes and systems to streamline workflows and optimize resource utilization.
11. Follow up on the annual physical count of company fixed assets and ensure results are accurately reported in a timely manner
12. Analyze all balance sheet accounts and apply the needed adjustments on a monthly basis if any to ensure correct entry and allocation for revenue and expenses.
13. Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for accruals and variances
14. Supervise and participate in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
15. Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices through ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5 - 7 years of experience
- Background in Charity Organizations
- Proven experience in accounting, with a focus on general ledger management and financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
