Description Maintain contact with existing and potential clients with specific reference to underwriting information such as coverage expectations and report findings to the underwriting officer, and/ or underwriting manager. Assist the Health & Life underwriting Manager to underwriter in the technical underwriting (financial & medical risk assessment) of all applications received from broker or/ and clients. Provide customer services/ assistance to the brokers/ clients. Assist the Health & Life underwriting Manager to underwriter in tailored a product to suit the broker/ clients demand within the budget. Actively promotes the medical insurance services of the company in the local market.- Ensures the preparation of quotations in accordance with Medirisk standard rates, monitoring discounts so that they do not exceed individuals defined authorities; signs-off quotations per authority limits.- Ensures that proposals are checked and policies timely prepared and issued including certificates of insurance, medical cards and signs-off acceptance of risk and policy documents as per his authority limits. Ensures that all client enquiries are handled in an efficient manner. Ensures that endorsements and the processing of policy cancellations are being signed off as per respective authorities.
Qualifications Should have been employed in the Medical insurance business for at least 2 years, with experience gained in both the Underwriting and Claims aspects of the medical insurance business. Ideally will also have, from a recognized body, a professional qualification in health insurance practice / insurance finance (such as MBA, CII, HIA, CTP, etc.) with specialization in Health Insurance.
