Description 1. Administer the day to day cash & bank operations, payments, procurement, staff payroll, petty cash etc. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, bylaws, donors regulations including timely payment of taxes and social insurance, 2. Review and posts adjusting and recurring journal entries and daily updates general ledger accounts; analyze and reconcile accounts; generates monthly trial balance; prepares year-end accruals and adjustments; and ensure FIS backups are performed, 3. Complete and report on the monthly/yearly closing procedures including internal unit funds, bank reconciliations and fund reconciliations to follow up on donors funds receivables, 4. Assist in the drafting and compile the annual budget; review and preparation of program budget estimates and forecasts; assist in the development of proposals for program funding, 5. Conducts regular and special revenues and expenditure analyses and monitoring reports, and cash flow forecasting, comparing budget versus actual; and report variances, 6. Prepare timely donors financial reports and AKDN due reports in collaboration with the program team. 7. Prepare for and respond to internal and external financial audits ensuring statutory compliance and that Internal and external audits recommendations are applied, 8. Review and monitor the financial operation of remote facilities/activities of the organization, 9. Assist in the drafting and/or reviewing partnership agreements, PGA agreements and proposals to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, 10. Support administrative services such as tender, awarded contracts , repair and maintenance of computer and office equipment, maintain insurance coverages, issue permits and licenses, safeguard and maintenance of assets, obtaining legal and legislative advice as required, 11. Provide leadership, guidance and proper training to reporting staff, delegate responsibilities ensure quality and timely reporting and regularly report to the CFO
Qualifications 1. Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance 2. 8-10 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in cost accounting 3. Solid experience in Financial management and generally accepted accounting principles 4. Microsoft office applications ; ability to operate spreadsheets 5. Strong analytical skills, 6. Attention to details and ability to meet deadlines 7. Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction 8. Time management skills 9. Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies 10. Problem solving, and results oriented 11. Effective communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Arabic including the ability to prepare reports 12. Ability to work under pressure with a positive and constructive attitude.
