Identify and measure potential safety hazards in the workplace. Analyze risk of fires in buildings. Determine dangers of handling certain toxic chemicals. Recommend appropriate loss prevention methods. Assess probability of harm. Develop procedures and designs to reduce the risk of illness, injury, or damage. Anticipate, evaluate, and react to hazardous conditions. Develop hazard control methods. Coordinate safety programs. Coordinate with outside organizations, such as fire departments. Design and install safety devices. Investigate industrial accidents. monitor, evaluate and review Health and Safety policy and practice, make recommendations and implement new policies and procedures as required. assist in the identification of training needs for employees and develop and deliver training as required. assist managers implement health and safety systems and procedures to meet specific requirements investigate the circumstances and causes of accidents and take necessary steps to prevent a recurrence provide direct management and leadership of the Health and Safety Team Conduct air quality and water quality tests. Determine if noise levels are appropriate. Advise workers on the proper use of safety equipment and clothing.
Qualifications Bachelors degree in related field Good Computer skills more than 5 years of Experience in the similar position Excellent written and interpersonal skills and the ability to challenge constructively. • Effective team working and networking skills and the ability to work independently using own initiative. • A relevant professional qualification e.g. NEBOSH Diploma. The ability to plan, priorities and organize own workload. • Extensive knowledge of effective health and safety management strategies and best practice. • Detailed knowledge of current health and safety legislation the ability to work in partnership and across boundaries to achieve results. • Confident and assertive with a self motivated approach and flexible attitude. • The ability to overcome obstacles to solve problems to achieve results. • Ability to cope with pressure and work to tight deadlines. • A personal commitment to continuous self-development
