Description     AMIDEAST is seeking a technical specialist for an expected scholarship administration and training program in Egypt to provide undeserved students from across Egypt with high quality undergraduate education in Egypt, and the skills and knowledge to participate actively and responsibly in their communities and contribute to the economic development of the country. Project activities include scholarship administration; English, academic, leadership and career preparation training coordination; private sector collaboration and internship management; and study abroad coordination. The technical specialist is responsible for managing the day to day activities and logistics of the program, reporting to the project director, and coordinating the student advisors and student activities. This position is contingent on funding. Tasks and Responsibilities: Tasks and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: The specialist will assist the project director in all aspects of the program, providing technical, management, and financial assistance, and will manage the day-to-day activities of the program. —Assist in the planning, administration, and implementation of all scholarship and training activities —Manage implementation of program activities in coordination with the project director, the university-based coordinators and advisors—Coordinate meetings, trainings, and follow up sessions
Qualifications    Required: • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as education/education policy, academic administration, business administration, or economics • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in scholarship or training programs • Familiar with Egyptian university and high school system • Fluent in English • Strong in Arabic communication skills • Demonstrated organizational, leadership skills and interpersonal skills including conflict resolution abilities • Egyptian citizen Preferred: • Experience working on USAID projects focused on education or training • Demonstrated interpersonal skills • Work experience with youth • Experience implementing programs in Egypt • Experience working in the private sector • Fluent in Arabic
