The role of the Donor Unit officer is to assist the donor manager that the donor unit meets its fundraising goals and reporting requirements. This includes research from the field offices, writing proposals and reports, data collection, compiling needed information from program managers and others within the organization and conducting regular field visits to ensure that projects are taking place in accordance with their plans of action. Responsibilities & Duties Fundraising & Communications • Share in Identifying and contacting new funding possibilities; this includes but is not limited to international donors, private sectors and governmental entities. • Conducting online research to find potential donors, to build contacts among individual donors and to develop a donor database. • Share in Respond to donors calls for proposals by developing and writing grant proposals. • Participate in developing new ideas for fundraising. • Maintain organized soft copies of all fundraising information on the ADEW internal system. • Providing a monthly plan and monthly reports on achievements. Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) • Sharing in developing the overall framework for the projects; for example, timeframe, action plan, lessons-learned and successful stories. • Attend meetings with donor manager; project managers, financial controllers, and technical staff to provide technical guidance and ensure that the implementation of activities is in accordance with the action plan. • Write field visit reports to evaluate the performance of the implementation of projects: stating all observations, recommendations and future plans. • Reviewing monthly, interim and final reports prepared by project managers before its submission to the donor.
Qualifications Education •B.A. in a relevant field, preferably in Social Sciences, Development Studies, International Relations, Gender Studies, or Political Science Experience and Requirements •2 years of relevant experience in the field of development is required. •Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic •Strong oral, writing, presentation and analytical skills. •Ability to work effectively with persons of diverse economic, cultural and social backgrounds. •Ability to work under stress and to meet deadlines. •Ability to express ideas clearly and effectively in oral and written communications. •Excellent research skills. •Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Power Point
