• Analyze spend and purchase trends and make recommendations for consolidation and/or supply agreements. Follow up the Market of assigned categories and propose strategy to reduce cost. • Coordinate, assign and follow up the work of his / her subordinates giving them guidance and assistance in their work. • Cooperate with Purchasing Manager and keep him informed about the Market conditions and plant needs of his / her assigned product categories. Propose cost savings & dept. efficiency measures. • Negotiate terms and conditions in accordance with purchasing strategies. • Draft procurement agreements and execute within budgetary limitations and company policies. • Monitor Supplier compliance to contract terms and conditions and keep files on Supplier’s performance. Issue monthly KPIs. • Monitor Issues Database, conduct problem solving, including the investigation of root cause analysis, and making recommendations for implementation of corrective action. • Assist in the development of training, process/procedure changes, and/or system(s) expansion and/or implementation as necessary. • Identify and qualify supplier candidates; assess vendor capabilities and ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; Recommend and assist in the development of new vendor programs and partnerships. • Monitor and communicate key industry developments and trends (shortages, price escalations, etc.).
Qualifications • B.A. or B.S. in business or related field (i.e., Procurement, Supply Chain Management, etc.). 5-7 years of experience in purchasing and/or contract management preferred. • Six-Sigma Certification highly desired. • Knowledge of sourcing, purchasing and buying in a manufacturing setting, construction materials manufacturing industry, highly desired. • Proven track record of cost-reduction, increased profitability, and change management in Procure-to-Pay is a plus. • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required. • Knowledge of SAP. • Ability to analyze, draw conclusions, articulate, summarize and present complex information. • Ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and make recommendations for solutions.
