Description CNFA is currently seeking applications from qualified candidates for the USAID funded Food-Security and Agribusiness Support (FAS) project. This project focuses on agricultural value chain development targeting smallholder farmers in Upper Egypt.
 The Agronomists will work to improve the economic future and quality of life of the FAS program beneficiaries. The Agronomists will support the Activity Coordinators by providing sector-focused data. These positions report directly to the Activity Coordinators and are based in Luxor , Aswan and Minya . Specific duties include:

 - Develop messages, structures and systems to continually improve FASs services to improve the productivity of poor farmers and help them turn that productivity into improved food security, nutrition and livelihoods
 - Serve as the primary liaison and coordinator between smallholder farmers and FAS staff to tap;
 - Identify technologies, practices, tools, equipment, varieties and partners that have the greatest potential to improve the agricultural productivity of Upper Egypt
 - Incorporate gender into program activities, not just by meeting gender beneficiary targets, but also be innovatively considering the specific needs of women farmers and their constraints to farming (time, land, money, etc.)
 - Participate in the development of work plans, program reviews, assessments, monitoring activities, learning and evaluations
 - Provide data to Activity Coordinators in support of team submission of timely weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports that will be indicative of program progress during implementation
 - Other duties as assigned

Qualifications - Preferably, a minimum of a B.Sc. in agronomy or related field. - Familiarity with agricultural extension and value chain development required; - Prior USAID or other international donor experience preferred; - Strong written and verbal communication skills; - Arabic language fluency required.

Compensations Compensation will depend on current salary the candidate is earning. this will be verified at the time of hiring via a contract or a paystub.
