Description 1. Develop and manage the necessary preventive maintenance schedules for plants vehicles, equipment and relevant machinery to ensure that these continue to operate at optimum levels.
2. Monitor the performance of plants Vehicles and equipment and revise maintenance schedules as necessary to ensure their effective performance.
3. Follow Up the consumption of spare parts and consumables in the workshop
4. Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets to ensure that maintenance is carried out within agreed costs.
5. Ensure that all documentation and procedures are provided by suppliers and contractors when receiving new equipment/s or spare parts.
6. Determine the optimum level of spare parts to be held in stock to ensure that availability is maintained at minimum cost.
7. Maintain comprehensive records of stocks and maintenance carried out.
8. Maintain contact with other departments to ensure that any plants shutdown is carried out at minimum cost.
9. Monitor the results of the planned maintenance program, and introduce any required changes where effectiveness needs to be improved.
10. Maintain knowledge of new developments in maintenance practices and procedures to ensure that there is continuous improvement in maintenance standards.
11. Accountable for implementing health and safety procedures and guidelines in the workshop
12. Provides the Service Center Manager with data and support as needed for workshop operations improvement (efficiency, resourcing, etc.)
13. Ensuring safe operations within workshop and maintenance operations.
Qualifications 1. A Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from accredited university 2. At least 5 years of hands-on experience in vehicles, equipment and machines mechanical maintenance
