Job Description

Kuwait Airways is actively recruiting for the position of Sr. Officer, Accounts - Cairo in Kuwait Airways Office, Egypt Station. in this role your responsibilities will include but not limited to:  

Basic Function and Scope:

Plans, guide, advise, all outstation general sales agency accounting work, and the allocation of outstation expenditure billed by other airlines, monitoring bank guarantees of general sales agents and related records and files. Implements action plans for continuous improvement in the outstation GSA accounting activity, improve and adjustment as appropriate, securing approval and implementing agreed amendments. Coordinates procedures to ensure the timely and accurate completion of the accounting processes, in accordance with the monthly closedown timetable and KAC rules and regulations. Assists in the implementation of an automated accounting system for all self accounting stations and some GSA stations, which comprises a general ledger, subsidiary ledgers for receivables and payables, cash management and other related accounting tasks. Includes reviewing all station accounting processes and procedures.

Tasks and Duties:

a. Participates in all general sales agents' and airline expenditure work. Reviews work for accuracy and ensuring correct input to the general ledger system, providing information to management, compiling and preparing summaries as necessary.

b. Monitors the monthly clearing of GSA accounts and the allocation of expenditure billed by other airlines, coordinating reconciliation and clearance of suspense accounts requiring allocation to head office controlled expenditure. Ensures that tasks are completed in accordance with the monthly and annual closedown timetables for the preparation of accounts.

c. Checks the net payments made by general sales agents, including reviewing monthly payments to determine balances due, checks outstanding balances for further review and action.

d. Reviews monthly reports on IATA accounts billings. Includes, the expense statements of IATA and non-IATA airlines and ensures that all expenses are in accordance with the KAC financial rules and regulations.

e. Receives daily correspondence from GSA offices and other departments for action to be taken. Coordinates the follow up of all internal and external correspondence and GSA's and in respect of queries on airline expenses. Includes keeping an up to date status on action requested and taken, and following up until matters are resolved.


Requirements

a)      Diploma or University degree in accounting.

b)      1  year accounting experience for University degree holders or 3 years general accounting experience for Diploma holders

c)       Knowledge of relevant computer system and good PC/keyboard skills.
