Job description
  • The Embassy of Belgium in Cairo is recruiting a passionate, proactive, open-minded and precise individual to join our ranks in a full-time position as Administrative Collaborator – Accounting Expert. This position consists of the following responsibilities:As Accounting file management officer: managing files related to the accounting of the Embassy.
  • As a “controller” reviewing and consolidating disparate financials in order to guarantee the validity of the data and its careful and coherent treatment.
  • As an “accounting consultant” providing advice and counsel on accounting principles to support the Embassy in the correct and sound management of the accounts.
  • As an “administrative collaborator”: assisting the General Logistics Management Officer of the Embassy in the management of the goods and services necessary for the proper functioning of the Embassy.
  • As a “translator/interpreter” translate internal and external documents and/or act as an interpreter for contacts with non-English/French/Dutch-speaking interlocutors.

Beyond these tasks, you must be flexible in order to contribute optimally to all tasks related to the proper functioning of the Embassy.

Technical competences:
  • The working languages of the Embassy of Belgium in Cairo are: French, Dutch, English and Arabic. Therefore, fluency in written and oral language in one of our national languages (Dutch/French), in English as well as in Arabic (spoken and written) is a requirement. Selected candidates will be assessed on their language skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical and calculation skills, with high level of attention to detail
  • Being able to work with MS Office, in particular Outlook, Word and Excel, and with social media applications (Facebook, Instagram, X)
  • Previous experience in a diplomatic mission and/or in a similar function will be taken into consideration
Eligibility criteriaThe position
  •  requires a university education diploma (Bachelor or Master Degree) and relevant work experience
  • You are an Egyptian citizen or you have a residence permit with a work permit in Egypt.
  • You are able to present a certificate of good conduct
Selection procedure
  • First selection based on the submitted application file
  • Written test and oral interview to assess the abovementioned competences
  • Date of entry into service: April 2026
We offer
  • A fixed-term contract for one year (under Egyptian law) with a trial period of three months, renewable after a positive evaluation.
  • Working schedule: full-time, Sunday – Thursday
  • Social security: local social security fund (if Egyptian nationality)
  • Holiday and leave arrangements: 14 holidays and 21 leave days per year
