Description We are seeking a talented and motivated individual with at least 2 years commercial experience of working with large scale, complex web environments and client/server applications. The successful candidate will have an extensive knowledge of the travel industry and will be required to work against tight deadlines in order to deliver a high quality product to market. Reporting directly to the QA Manager, this person will join our existing software testing team and will be required to perform complex system tests on Windows based client server environments and web software systems.
Qualifications The candidate will ideally need to demonstrate: • considerable and varied knowledge of the travel industry • broad knowledge of GDS reservation systems, preferably including ticketing, fare loading, private agency fares, profiles etc • front office exposure of sales, packaging and branch operations • back office exposure of BSP returns, vendor payment and reconciliation, ATOL, accounts posting • exposure to web based and desktop travel systems • a good knowledge of MSQL Server and Structured Query Language • self-motivation, be a team player and have the capability of working successfully under minimal supervision in a pressured environment

Other Skills It is desirable, but not essential, if the candidate can also bring to the role: • experience of evaluating software solutions and their impact on the business • a strong understanding of the full development and testing lifecycle, associated test environments, test planning, script writing and test cycle testing • experience of testing web applications • experience of automated testing • a basic knowledge of SQL • Understanding of software development methodologies • experience of working with XML and web service technologies • experience of working with the Booking Management Module and/or Reservation Module
