• Ensure that there exists within the electrical team an attitude of absolute intolerance for unsafe situations. That all team members are encouraged never to implement any change, whether directly instructed to, or under his/her own initiative, without first questioning its impact in relation to product safety/quality, people safety and the environment. No compromises should be tolerated. • Ensure that all personnel performing electrical related activities are legally trained and certified. • Ensure at all times the technical integrity/performance of the electrical energy supply and distribution. • Ensure at all times safe installations and operations through proper design, protection systems, procedures and training. • Liaise with the site Safety Officer on electrical matters relating to safety, electricity distribution, energy conservation, legal compliance, complaints etc.. • Coordinate with Production, Quality Management and Engineering to resolve any electrical issues. • Supervise and coordinate electrical maintenance and project work by electricians and contractors. • Ensure proper management of electrical documents (manuals, diagrams, instrument data sheet, software packages/licenses) through efficient filing and archiving procedures. • Initiate and drive Continuous Improvement (CI) in electricity supply and distribution with the aim of achieving optimized plant performance. • Manage the capturing of electrical energy related information and the distribution of this information to the required stakeholders. • Ensure that new installations are designed with a high degree of flexibility to better enable the operations to adjust to a changing environment keeping in mind safety and the issues relating to the environment.
Qualifications • In-depth knowledge of Electricity, in low voltage and medium voltage installations. • In-depth knowledge of EMC (Electromagnetic compatibility). • Good knowledge of local electrical code and standards. • Knowledge of Instrumentation and Process Control Systems. • Knowledge of food processing operations and technology. • Knowledge on MES (Manufacturing Execution System). • Knowledge on PLC and SCADA • Knowledge of food safety, regulatory requirements for food safety, hygienic engineering and Quality Management System. • Analytical skills in Problem Solving. • Maintenance & Improvement, Energy & Project Management.
