Operations and Support Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and various applications. Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, system and key processes, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups, and maintaining computer systems and physical network connections. Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports and following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system. Setting up new users , accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues Working continuously on a task until completion (or refer to third parties, if appropriate), responding within agreed time limits to call-outs and prioritizing and managing many open cases at one time. Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, e.g., software developers. Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment ,repair and recover from hardware failures. Maintenance Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Perform hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required. Replacing parts as required. Hardware scheduled maintenance responsibilities.
Qualifications Working Conditions / Physical Effort: Good Knowledge of electrical connections and wiring is preferable, Including UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) maintenance and installation. Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice. Complexity / Problem Solving: Position deals with a variety of problems and sometime has to decide which answer is best. The question/issues are typically clear and requires determination of which answer (from a few choices) is the best.
