-Lead responsibility for day to day accounting and reporting within the retail accounting workstream including sales/accounts receivable, chargebacks, CGS/inventory, deferred revenue, sales tax, royalties, merchant banking fees, and sales return reserves. -Provides day to day supervision and guidance to assigned staff; completing higher risk and higher complexity tasks and responsibilities as required. Leads the preparation, analysis, and reporting of monthly inventory and cost of goods sold transactions including capitalization, costing, valuation, obsolescence, and shrinkage. -Supervisors and monitors the effective administration of chargebacks including working with IT to enhance antifraud measures as necessary. -Works with fulfillment and production partners to design and execute consistent procedures related to inventory management and control and related financial and management reporting. Participates in the physical inventory and book to physical process including the identification and impact of system and procedural changes. -Participates in inventory systems design and integration with other financial systems. Participates in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement closing activities and the preparation of related financial statements and various ad hoc reports. -Participates in the preparation, review, and analysis of actual vs. planned results including the communication of results and relevant drivers to business unit partners. -Assists in the development, maintenance and implementation of a documented system of retail accounting policies and procedures. Assists in the assessment, design, and implementation of internal controls over financial reporting and other business process improvements. Monitors ongoing compliance and makes recommendations for improvement. -Assists in the identification, analysis, and implementation of revenue generating or expense saving opportunities in the Company.
Qualifications 6+ years of relevant and progressively responsible accounting experience in a high growth environment including 2+ years of retail and inventory accounting experience required.
