- Implementation of the research study under directions of the Study Director and in accordance with the guidelines and the approved study plan. - Grouping animals into the assigned cages with consequent labeling to both animals and cages. - Weighing animals initially then weekly thereafter. - Calculation of food requirements for the assigned animals. - Dose calculation to the administered test substance. - Preparation of solutions (including the accurate calculation for the solution prepared) for oral gavages for administration. - Adequate labeling and handling of the test and reference items if found. - Adequate storage of the test items to preserve stability. - Administration of the test solution prepared and the record of the quantity given, duration in records sheets or logbooks. - Blood and tissue collection when required or at the end of the study. - Sending the collected samples (Blood and Tissue) for analysis. - All study personnel are responsible for recording raw data promptly and accurately and in compliance with the Principles of Good Laboratory Practice, and are responsible for the quality of their data. - Monitor animal rooms and environmental conditions (i.e. Light cycle, room temperature and humidity, condition of animals) on daily basis. - Check water and food availability and bedding changes. - Check the cleanliness of floors, cages daily or when needed. - Check operation of ventilation units and air conditioners by monitoring Data loggers - Isolation of dead animals if found for appropriate handling (histology) or disposal, and reporting to Study Director. - Prepare suitable SOPs to comply with latest guidelines. - Coordination of any other activities necessary to execute the research protocol.
