Description Provide comprehensive technical support on all LAN / WAN software and hardware within the global environment including routers,switches,firewalls,wireless and VPN devices. Provide network and security engineering support based on customer requirements,internal and external,and in adherence to Stream Infrastructure and Security policies. Perform network design and capacity planning in coordination with the global Infrastructure and Security teams. Provide infrastructure solutions to meet company business requirements.This includes cost effective procurement,deployment, maintenance and upgrades to all hardware and software. Proactively recommend, schedule,and perform network and security infrastructure maintenance,improvements,upgrades and repairs. Collaborate with and educate Computer Services,Systems Engineering and VoIP Engineering staff on network design and security considerations. Create and maintain documentation on LAN / WAN topology in accordance with global standards. Monitor and test enterprise network performance and provide routine network utilization and statistical reporting. Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of global IT initiatives. Proactively engage in, and recommend, the use of Industry Best Practices within Stream network and security infrastructure design and implementations. Participate in Disaster Contingency Projects. Perform system backups and recovery.
Qualifications Skills in verbal and written communication to analyze, interpret and address customer needs. Experience in working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Experience in working with a geographically dispersed multicultural team. Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities and assignments. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and procedure manuals. A clear ability to articulate technical detail to a non technical audience. Ability to work with minimal guidance or supervision in a time critical environment. Ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to changing business needs and processes. Ability to consult users and staff on business requirements and business and technical solutions. Ability to consult with customers, or other 3rd party providers representing customers, on technical solutions.

Other Skills Strong hands on knowledge of networking equipment, cabling infrastructure and protocols. Strong hands on knowledge of the configuration and optimization of VoIP equipment. Strong hands on knowledge of security standards, implementation and adherence. Proven ability in the use of network analysis tools – e.g. Protocol Analyzers, Sniffers, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems. Knowledge of the following technologies; Cisco, Check Point, Nokia IPSO, SecurePlatform, Linux. Knowledge of Global Telecommunication standards. Must be able and prepared to travel globally if required 3 – 5 years previous experience in a network/security support related environment

Comments Rotating after hours on-call availability(currently every 5 weeks). Sitting for extended periods of time. Occasional inspection of cables and wiring in floors and ceilings.
