Description PROJECT BACKGROUND:
Feed the Future Egypt Rural Agribusiness Strengthening Project (ERAS) is a five-year USAID-funded activity. It aims to improve the competitiveness of Egypts horticulture producers and related down-stream businesses and food processors. The project promotes a more competitive and inclusive Egyptian economy through growth in selected horticultural sectors with special focus on securing employment and increasing agriculture-related incomes of smallholder farmers. The project will work in greater Cairo, Upper Egypt, and the Nile Delta through three strategic regional offices in Luxor, Minya and Gharbia.
ASSIGNMENT BACKGROUND
Food economy and budgeting is one of the main subjects that will be discussed with female participants in ERAS project. It aims to increase female participants awareness in target areas about food economy and planning of food budget to increase the diet diversity of the households within the available budget of the families. The food budget consultant will work together with the program staff including FNS Lead and Nutrition lead to fulfill all the project requirements. Food budget consultants main role is to train female participants in the target governorate to increase their knowledge about food economy and food budget planning.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Curriculum development
-Develop food budget training manual that contain information about food economy and food budget planning.
-Pre and post evaluation forms.
University graduate training
-Assess in conducting food budget training at the governorate level in collaboration with nutrition lead.
DELIVERABLES:
-Food Budget training manual
-Written report on results of food budget training to university graduates
Qualifications The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: PhD degree in nutrition science Experience in food economy & food budgeting Experience implementing training of trainers. Experience developing nutrition training manuals
