Description The incumbent will report to the Field Office Director administratively but to the MEL Lead as far as job tasks and responsibilities are concerned. The incumbent will mainly lead the data gathering activities at field level; capture gathered information in well-written progress reports; supervise and verify gathered data entered into the database by the data entry operators. He or she will be required to travel extensively to the neighboring governorates where ERAS operates.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the direct supervisor.

 1. Capture all information about all field activities achieved on weekly basis in periodic progress reports.
 2. Lead and guide all the data gathering activities including baseline surveys.
 3. Closely supervise and verify the data entered in the M & E database by the data entry operators.
 4. Gather data and information about project beneficiaries including production groups, farmer associations, agricultural labor, etc.
 5. Gather data and information about sales achieved by production groups.
 6. Gather data and information about crops processed at local/regional pack houses.
 7. Collect data and information from the Field Coordinator about achieved training activities on weekly basis.
 8. Ensure all gathered data and information are reported to the MEL Lead and entered in the database through data entry operators upon verification.

Qualifications Must have a minimum of a bachelors degree (B.Sc. or B.A.) in Business administration or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar position. A working knowledge of data base applications, word processing, spread sheet and presentation computer applications and the ability to navigate the world wide web especially for the purpose of preparing technical information is a must. Excellent report writing skills is required. - Ability to communicate with and respond to common inquiries or complaints from beneficiaries and members of the business community. - Ability to write and translate reports. - Ability to effectively present information to top management and component members. - Fluency in language skills required are: English and Arabic.

Other Skills PROJECT BACKGROUND: Feed the Future Egypt Rural Agribusiness Strengthening Project (ERAS) is a five-year USAID-funded activity. The project aims to improve the competitiveness of Egypts horticulture producers and related down-stream businesses and food processors. It promotes a more competitive and inclusive Egyptian economy through growth in selected horticultural sectors with special focus on securing employment and increasing agriculture-related incomes of smallholder farmers. The project will work in greater Cairo, Upper Egypt, and the Nile Delta, through three strategic regional offices in Luxor, Minya and Gharbia.
